Foil stamping, cover materials, paper qualities, grammage, typography and design – all the things that bring stories to life in print. We are a book workshop that insists on the value and expressive power of paper books in a digitalized age. That’s why we work every day to develop books that invite calm, contemplation and reflection.

Through the physical and spatial dimensions of the book, we explore the boundaries of what paper books are and can be. The textural quality of a beautifully crafted book is a key element when we set ambitions for future releases.

Since the establishment of our book workshop in 2017, we have received several awards for our work, including the Book Design Award, the Creative Circle Award and the Albertsen Foundation’s honorary award for good and experimental book craftsmanship.

At BOOK LAB, we set high standards for ourselves and our partners, and we put a lot of effort into all the processes involved in producing a sensuous and relevant book. From the idea to the processing of text and design to the carefully selected paper. We do this because for us, books are a craft on a par with designer furniture and architecture. They have a potential that goes beyond their primary function. Just as the value of a Wegner chair exceeds the comfort of sitting, the experience of a beautifully crafted book exceeds the sum of images and words.
